In ancient times, cats were worshiped as gods. This seems like a pretty excellent idea to me!
My name is Emmie, but most of the time Mom calls me Emmett, or Miami (as in My Emmie).  I've been Mom and Dad's pet longer than either of the two dogs who live here.  I was also a rescue.  I was at Shamrock Animal Hospital in Rosemount.  I had a broken leg when I arrived there, but they mended me up, good as new!  I was in foster care with one of the workers there, but then Mom came and took me home.
I'm not a snuggling kind of cat.  I'm more like a "pet me if you can catch me but then watch out because I might take your face off", kind of cat, as more than one person has learned.
I'm an inside cat, but I have no problem sneaking outside whenever I can.
My favorite things in life are sleeping endlessly, sitting in boxes, shredding papers, and terrorizing two dogs.  Sometimes I get a real kick out of chasing my tail.
I'll keep you posted on how things are going for me, from my perspective, which is of course, the only thing that actually counts!

Keesha had her turn...now it's all about me!
My name is Sadie.  I'm a Black and Tan Coonhound.  They say I was rescued, but I'm not so sure about that.  I'm pretty sure I was the one who decided to come home with my Mom.
Mom heard about a couple of Keeshonds available for adoption from Homeward Bound.  There were all kinds of dogs that were brought to Petco in Maplewood, all of us hoping to find someone to take us home.  Mom spent a lot of time with these 2 Keeshonds, but I guess she just wasn't feeling the love.  Someone else wanted to spend some time with the Keeshonds, and Mom happened to pass by the kennel I was in.  I gave her my very best hound dog look.  Mom asked a Homeward Bound volunteer to let me out of my jail.  We walked around the store, but I was sooooo petrified I could hardly walk.  Eventually, I just had to lay down in the store and shake.  I couldn't help it.  I was so scared.  I tried my best, but I was really worried Mom wouldn't chose me.  Next thing you know, Mom finished all the paperwork and I was in the car on the way to my new home.  The Homeward Bound people told Mom I was three years old (that was last year, so now I guess I'm four - in people years).  I used to live far way, in the South - near Oklahoma.  They told Mom I had to leave my other home because the people wanted a hunting dog, and well, I'm just way too scared about pretty much everything to be any kind of a hunting dog.  Those people didn't realize I could be a very excellent girl to just hang out with.
When we got to my new home, I met Keesha.  She seemed OK - but was mostly interested in just getting outside.  Mom took both of us outside, but she didn't have a very good hold on that leash they put on me at Petco.  I saw an opportunity to run, so I took off.  Mom chased me and I thought it was a great game.  She seemed pretty relieved when I ran back to the door at what I assumed was my new home.
When my new Dad came home from work, I didn't know what to think - and I kind of accidentally growled at him.  He wasn't scared of me.  But he knew I was scared of him!  When he sat down on the big couch and gave me a few rubs behind the ears, I knew I could really trust this guy.
I have lots more stories to tell, but this is enough for now.  I'm really happy I found a place to call home forever.  The next blog will be about Emmie.  She's a cat, so it should be a pretty short blog.

Hello!  I'm Keesha and I'm a Keeshond.  I'm a senior girl, as you can probably tell from the gray on my face.  I had a little bit of journey to get to my home.  You see, I was rescued.  In the process I ended up with two human moms - so that's a great BONUS, in my opinion.  Shortly after I made it to my first mom's place, I had puppies - 6 of them!
Boy oh boy!  I sure never want to do that again.  They were cute and all, and I really did kind of miss them when they all went to find homes with their own humans.  But on the other hand, I really didn't mind being the prettiest girl in the house and soak up all the attention.
This next part is where things get a little bit confusing.  #1 mom had a friend at work, and she adopted one of my babies.
Isn't she just adorable?  I think she looks quite a bit like me.  They named her Betsy.  But Betsy was the smallest puppy of the litter and she had a bad heart murmur.  Betsy only made it to 6 months old.
I know Mom #1 loved me to pieces, but she decided that maybe I could go to live with someone else who could spoil me more, and treat me like the royalty I know I am.  So, that's where Mom #2 comes into the picture.  Turns out Mom #2 is the friend from Mom #1's work - the same person who adopted my baby, Betsy.

So - here's the great part - I live with Mom #2, but I still get to see Mom #1.  And I just LOVE when I get to have both of my human Moms paying lots of attention to me.  Mom #1 had some human babies after I left, and they love me too.  I have to say, I'm a pretty lucky girl.
So, for now - enough about me - although I could just go on and on.  Obviously (from the title) you can tell this is a blog about 2 dogs and a cat.  I'll tell you more about my memories and adventures another time.  I'll turn the next blog over to Sadie.  She's kind of a newcomer to my kingdom.  And you'll also hear about Emmie.  She's a cat.  She's OK, for a feline - you just have to give her plenty of space.

And sometimes, you might hear from my mom too.  She insisted on putting this quote in our blog.
